I recently came across this list of famous people throughout history and modern times who suffered or currently suffer from tinnitus. I know that this serves no prupose to advance your undrstanding of the condition or help you to be a better medical care consumer both goals of this blog but I thought it might interest you to see the list. For me the list served to remind that none of us is in this alone in this. It may feel that way at times. It further made me aware that perfectly extraordinary lives can be had while enduring the ringing in the ears malady. It also serves to remind us of the old saying that "misery loves company." take from your knowing the names of these fellow sufferers what you will.
It does comfort one to note that among the list’s many contemporary fellow sufferers there are many with great resources. None of them would be able to get better treatment than is available to the average American. They would have gotten the same recommendations for routine hearing tests when they sought to know the causes of ringing in ears. They would have been told the drugs that help tinnitus and the drugs that cause tinnitus etc. In the end they would not have gotten any better care for the condition than you can get for yourself. So arm yourself with a little information and get to work at helping yourself to get the problem solved.
